This was my first trip to a professional bike race in Europe.  I signed on with Graham
Baxter Sporting Tours  www.sportingtours.co.uk.  The trip started with a flight from
Los Angeles to London where I was picked up by the Baxter Coach at Heathrow Airport.  Then came about a ten hour bus ride to Reims France via a ferry on the English channel.   The following day we made the short trip to Metz for the Stage-8 Individual Time Trial.  Lance Armstrong won the TT and put on the yellow jersey.  He would wear the yellow jersey all the way to Paris.
