Today was the first individual time trial of the 03 TDF and the only time trial we would see on this trip.   Toulouse was close enough to the start to ride out from the hotel, which was about 25 miles each way.    It was another hot day over more rolling terrain and farm land.   Lance Armstrong had a bad day and lost about two minutes to Jan Ullrich.  We watched the last twenty or so riders start, watched the last hour on a TV in a smoky bar, then rode back to Toulouse.
