Wednesday June 16th - Adelboden

Today was out first foray into the Alps. Our ride started from the hotel Hotel Lötschberg in Interlaken. Interlaken is a tourist town in the Bernese Alps. There are three very famous mountains above Interlaken: Jungfrau, Eiger, and Mönch. Today we couldn't see them due to another storm that was coming in. We set out for stage finish in Adelboden. There were two climbs on the way. The harder of the two was to the Cat-1 finish. At Adelboden it started raining and stayed wet for the rest of the day. We watched the finish then rode in the rain back to Interlaken. At one point it started raining so hard we took shelter at a gas station. We contemplated taking a train back, but the rain stopped and we finished the day on the bikes.
